Lost the shortcut key "F5" when changing keyboard

Hi Pablo and staff. After 15 years I had to give up my beloved Logitec keyboard... of course for a new Logitec :D But what I wasn't prepared for was that the new keyboard was preprogrammed with a lot of hotkeys, social keys etc... and when I should preview the first time in WWB I pressed "F5" and there was something else. Enoying as &%#ยค% :o
But I managed from the settings of the keyboard to erase the F5 presetted function. Went into WWB and checked and the F5 was settled for the Preview as it should, but didn't work. Restarted but did not work. So I erased the hotkey and started over and tried to enter the preview to F5 but now it don't let me enter it. Any ideas for solution?

If you don't need the hotkeys at all, did you try to uninstall the keyboard software? Or does it not work without installation?

Have you assigned F5 to the software? If not then you will need to assign it so that the keyboard knows what to open. Perhaps reading the following will help How to create custom keyboard shortcuts in Windows

Hi jerryco, tnx for the suggestion. Some of the hotkeys are quite good, so if I can I will keep them :D The only thing I want now is to get the F5 to work inside WWB as it used to. So I am some confused I can not assign it to the "preview" as it used to be?
I erased the F5 from the preview setting and after I can not assign it again??

Hi Bacon... tnx for the suggestion. I checked a little fast before answering you and I was some insecure because the "hotkey" shall only be active inside WWB? S I am wondering why I shall assign it to the software? I shall check again..., but if you can explain a little more I will be very grateful.

Ok my bad I read this completely wrong. Have you tried reseting keyboard shortcuts in Tools>Customise? It is also possible to reset the shortcuts stored in the registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Pablo Software Solutions\WYSIWYG Web Builder 19\BCGWorkspace
Once you have removed this key you will need to close WB you should find all shortcuts will be set to default.

Tnx Bacon... will give that a try... will be back with the result...

Cheers

Hi Bacon... did erase the register key "BCGWorkspace". Restarted WWB and the shortcut was not resetted. I then restarted the OS but no. The field in Customize keyboard is still empty. Before I erased it had the F5 setted to the Preview field. But after the deletion of the register key I can't insert it? Strange...

UPDATE: I made a new shortcut for preview using "alt + v" works good, but bad I can't use the one I have in my backbone :(

What about uninstalling the keyboard software, then removing the F5 link in WWB, installing the keyboard software and then newly setup the F5 link in WWB?

Hi jerryco, did your suggestion but didn't work out well. Uninstalled all softwares for logitec so lost connection to the webcam . Checked the Auto start softwares and there's a "LogiLDA.dll" file which I unactivated. The hotkeys for the keyboard still works... Tnx for your concern jerryco, I shall checkarround some...

Does anything happen when you press F5? My Logitech k/b is wireless and defaults to having to use the Function key along with the F key to simulate just pressing the F5 (like for clearing the cache). So basically two functions for each F key.

Hi bkjohns, I resetted the keyboard and reinstalled the software. Back to the start and after some reading of instructions :) I found out that there was a key combination for turn off all the extra hotkeys... So easy when working in WWB.

Tnx to Bacon, jerryco and bkjohns

So after all manipulation, do you now have F5 for preview again? Or do you have to turn off hotkeys first to have it?

Hi jerryco... when using WWB I deactivate the preprogrammed hotkeys with the key-combination for this purpose and the F5 works as it should for WWB.

No not perfect... but the best there is for the moment. There are a lot of setup options for the keyboard, but will save that for the long and cold winter... :D

Do you have a link to the keyboard? I use a laptop but I'm curious.

Hi jerryco... the name of the keyboard is: Logitech MX Keys S Plus. Bought it at the dealer and when looking at Logitechs webpage I only find this that is without the "Plus" but it looks the same:

Thanks. Interesting layout combining functions with the functions keys!
