*** SOLVED *** impossible to publish

Post by taowen »

Hi,
I cann't publish anymore new pages or corrections on my website : www.regis-pfaffenzeller.com. My host is planet hoster. I tried everything from local folder to SSH-52. With local folder, I get successfully but no new files founded !, with others, always failed.
I don't manage to add screen shots. I try another way here : it doesn't work.
Corrections were very light.
Before I used FTP standard protocol and now, it doesn't work. I am with WWB20.3.1
o you have an idea of why it's always failing?
Best regards.

You cannot upload images(screenshots) to the forum for security reasons. To do so you can upload the images to your own host and then provide a url. Or use the following
https://imgbb.com/
One reason that comes to mind is that your host no longer uses FTP but now requires you to use SFTP instead you will need to confirm this with them. Have you tried using the likes of Filezilla or even CuteFTP to publish?

If it has previously worked and it suddenly stopped working then it's most likely a server sided error.
Most web host sno longer support standard FTP for security reasons, so in that case you will need to configure SFTP or FTPS.
This may also require different credentials.

One thing you may want to try is to publish to a local folder (making sure you publish ALL files), and then use something like FileZilla to copy new files up to the server.

Publishing to a local folder will check that "publish" works (which it will do) and you can see the files easily.
Using FileZilla will give you more control on how you connect and you can see differences between the local folders/files and what's on the server.

Thank's for your messages.
If I use Filezilla, I would have also to enter datas from Planet hoster, so I would have same problems.
I downloaded scrennshots with imgBB, but they write "envoyez"=send, but I don't understand then what to do, send where, how? I think you should be able to help if you get them.
Planet hoster migrated my website to Noc, they seem to use SSH2, but I tried to transfer with it and failed. There might be another data to change.
I contacted them and am waiting for them to answer.

We can only help you if we know the exact configuration.

But if it also does not work with Filezilla then the issue is not directly related to WWB.

You wrote that planethoster has or is migrating over to NOC is this complete? During this you may or will not be able to make any changes to your site. They may have also changed how you publish now which only they can help with. A quick "Google" on the migration gave me this it includes links to other information such as
"How to Connect to sFTP/SSH Via the Customer Area" it may be of help. Or as asked by Pablo please provide the full log information.

I red everything and got a headache!
I used test and explore, see the screenshots. I got access to my site but haven't seen the file index.html.
I red also the planet hoster guide. Is there a problrm with the server adress? I was tempted to replace host: regis-pfaffenzeller.com by the server adress (node37-ca.n0c.com) but didn't, too scared to make a mistake.
After many attempts, I manage to contact Planet Hoster and is waiting to there answer.

It works with port 5022, and not port 22, as it is automatically written when I choose SSH.
It still doesn't appear on google chrome (There is always a delay with them), but it is ok on firefox and bing.
I had to written again changes to make publish work.
Thank you for your help.

The port can be different for different web hosts, that is why it can be configured. There is no way for the software to know this automatically.

If the website does not work in Chrome then clearing the browser cache may help.
