Tables inside Layout Grid invisible in Design View

Post by nxr »

Hi Pablo,

I have encountered a specific workspace rendering bug in WYSIWYG Web Builder 21 that was not present in any of the previous versions.

Context:
The project was originally created in WWB 18, then successfully maintained and edited in WWB 20 without any issues. The problem appeared only after opening and working on the project in WWB 21.

Problem description:
When a standard Table object (imported from the older versions) is placed inside a Layout Grid, its content becomes completely invisible in the workspace (Design View). Curiously, after previewing or publishing the page, the table renders perfectly fine in the browser. The issue is strictly isolated to the WWB 21 editor workspace.

Steps to reproduce:

Open a project upgraded from v18/v20 in WWB 21.

Observe a Table object located inside a Layout Grid column.

The table is completely invisible in the Design View (though it still appears in the Object Manager).

Temporary workaround:
If I drag the Table outside the Layout Grid, it becomes visible again in the editor. Also, if I wrap the Table inside a standard Container/Flexbox Container and then place that container inside the Layout Grid, it remains visible.

It seems like the new v21 workspace rendering engine fails to properly calculate the height/overflow of legacy tables when they are direct children of a Layout Grid.

Could you please look into this backward compatibility rendering bug?

Tables inside Layout Grid invisible in Design View

Post by Pablo »

I was not able to reproduce this behavior based on your description. For me, it seems to work correct.
So, this may be related to specific settings in your project.
Can you please share DEMO project (not the full project!) so I can see all your settings?

For further details about how to share a project file, please see this FAQ:

Thanks for sharing the demo project.
I was now able to reproduce the issue and it has been fixed in the latest build (6/19/2026).

Wow, that was incredibly fast! Thank you for the quick turnaround and the swift update.

I have installed the latest version, and everything works perfectly now. The tables are fully visible in the Design View again.

Thanks for the amazing support!

Thanks but it does not help. I install a header with a word in, ad an layout grid with a word and preview. The grid does not show up. If I put a word anywhere outside it shows up! When I ad the grid it shrinks soon after I placed the word in it. Do I have to upload it?

I don't think your issue is related to the original topic, because was specific to old/upgraded tables.

If you need help then please provide a DEMO project so I can see your settings. See also the forum rules.

I try to build a new site and what I have done is adding a header and one layout grid. I put one word in the header and one word in the two columns in the layout grid and uploaded it. That is the only thing on this page, the adress is

Note that this has nothing to do with the original topic.

You have mixed fixed and flexible layout.
The Page Header is fixed, the layout grid is flexible. So, the layout grid is behind Page Header. This is normal layout behavior.
To show the layout grid below the page header you can give it a top margin.

Also note that is not common to use 2 page headers on the same page.
