publishing not working

Hi All, I upgraded WWB17 and then WWB 17.3, I upgraded a web site with some addition and tried to publish the site, no alteration up loaded, in preview mode everything is fine, but when I publish the site my screen goes black and the publishing window has changed, which I don't like ( but HO HUM). Any suggestions on what might be going on.

Publish does not work different than in previous versions.
What exactly do you mean by 'not working'?
Are there any errors in the publish log?

I was missing the htdocs for some reason????? . Publisher doesnt have the list anymore, I cant see at a glance which files are uploaded successfully. but uploaded now thanks

What do you mean by this? How is this related to WWB?
Maybe you have set the log level to 'warning'? In that case, case the list will only show something is there is an error.
