i have a very simple website, but only one user out 16 is not able to login. i have edited the database saved changes (password) but it is still coming up with forgot password. I have made a change on that page, but still unable to login. i can email the database if required.

Maybe the user's browser has disabled cookies, so the login state cannot be stored?

i have reset there password in the edit base, uploaded the database and then tried to login with their user credentials, but it states you forgot your password. once the whole website is published, i checked the time on the file but it does not relate to the last published date. Am i doing something wrong? do you want a copy of the database?

i have used another user name and changed their password in the database and uploaded the changed database. i then logged in with that users name and the temp password. it failed with that password and directed me to the forgot password, where i entered their email address and received a new temp password. logged in and used the change password which it accepted. logged out and then logged back in with the new password and it worked.
i tried with the problem user name "maalbano" with temp password, but it rejected and forced me to the forgot password and then it failed .
i just checked the website and it seems that the files have been updated and i do not know wy as i have been trying for the past few days to get the upload current.

Do you mean that it works for all users, except for the user 'maalbano'?
Maybe the user is disabled ?

Note that I cannot see what have done based on the published page.

i have created the stripped down project. it is located at

www/www/croftlodge.wbs

the issue is when user maalbano tries to login, they are immediately moved to the page on forgot password. they then type in their email address and given a new generated password, but each time they are referred back to the forgot your password. To test i used dianam and went into the database and created a new password test2test. uploaded database and tried to login and was forced to forgot your password page, where i typed in her email address and recieced an email with a generated temp password. i then login and went to the user page to change the password to one i can remember. i logged out and then logged in using the new password and was allowed to access the secure pages.

i hope this is clear and you can resolve this issue.

It is on my website. How do I share it I have stripped down the end called Croftlodge stripped. End and placed it e within the website. Can you no see it?

the issue is user malbano is unable to log in to the secured section of the website.

i have changed her password several times, but no success.
i even created a new user albano and that did not work.

However, I find your setup very confusing.
How do I test this?

Where does the user normally go?
How does the user login?
What the the destination page?

Thanks, for the updated files. It is still confusing, but I have updated the project myself so it makes sense to me.
I cannot find anything in the project that may make it stop working. Everything seems to be correct.
Maybe there is problem with the browser? For example, maybe the browser cache needs to be cleared?
Did you try another browser?

The user has departed on business. I will check with the user when hey return.

What did you do to the website?

Can you send your copy back so I can see how it is updated

What is did was
- remove everything that is not relevant to the question.
- rename the pages to logical page names, so I can understand how the structure is.
I did not make any changes to the settings.
