Keeping slideshows within a fixed size

Good evening all
I have spent some time ( 8 hours) on this and I realise that I am missing something!
https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/67h9jri4 ... od6ookogq9
I have a one page project here, which is a new master frame and index page I am trying out.
Whilst appreciating that I have not sized the photos, so this might be the cause, the grid responds to the change of photo by re-sizing. Even when I put it to "fixed" height, it still resizes.
Would someone please point out to me where I have gone wrong?
Many thanks
Mike

You did not include the images, so I may not be seeing what you are seeing.
But for me everything looks correct.
What did you expect to happen?
Note: you can control the maximum size of the layout grid via the 'max-width' property.

Sorry, I thought they had gone with the rest.
Because the photos are of different aspects/shapes, they project below where I want them to and so as the slideshow progresses, the display jumps up and down.
I will work out how to get them to you in the morning
I have reduced the max- width to 600 so expected a bit of a response.
Back soon. Good night
Mike

Had already reduced the display

You've placed the slideshow into a grid so they will automatically scale when the browser width is reduced. The main issue is you are using different height images. My suggestion is to make them all the same size for the best results.

I have saved the project as a zip file/folder, which says it includes the images

Hope this is what is needed.
Best

Thanks Crispy
That is quite correct. Some images are landscape and some are portrait, so to reduce them all to the same height would really impact on the visibily of the portrait ones.
If I can set the height of column to the portrait ones, then I could accept that the landscape ones don't fill the whole frame, but at least they would be a decent size.
I'm open to any suggestions as to how to resolve, although I will try your advice soonest

Although you can have different image sizes, they need to have the same aspect ratio.
The browser will use the aspect ratio of the image to determine the height. So, if you have different aspect then the sideshow will 'jump'.

Ah well, Pablo, thanks for clearing that up for me, but it would be an interesting thing to have a fixed height grid in any given breakpoint and another height in another breakpoint.
I'll get on with re-sizing then!

If you use a carousel with background images then you can have different image sizes. Of course, in that case the images will be clipped if they do not fit inside the height.

Thanks for that- unfortunately I didn't see it as I was busy resizing!
Now that all images are 900x600 the slideshows stay fixed and it is approaching what I want, but not there yet

. When I put a frame/border round the slideshow, the picture offsets, looking as though it is pinned to the top left. I think the border forms inside the slide show, so then the picture overflows to the right and down. tomkinsonsofliverpool.co.uk shows what I mean.
Is there a setting I have missed, please, to get the picture within the border?

Note that I cannot see what you have done based on the published page (HTML), because the software has thousands of options and millions of possible combinations.
So, there is no way to know which options you have used by looking at the HTML only.
To be able to help you, I need a DEMO project (.wbs file) so I can see all your settings.
I do not need the complete project because that will only take more time to figure out what you have done.
Basically, I just need a small project with one page and object(s) that are relevant to your question.
For further details about how to share a project file, please see this FAQ:

The test project -tomkinsontestproject5.zip is now in the public folder as:
ftp://Tomkinsonsofliverpool.co.uk@79.17 ... oject5.zip
It seems a very big zip file for say 20 images.
Sorry about the delay

The file seems to be corrupt. I cannot open the zip file.
However, it is also very large, so it's likely that you did not read this:

ftp://Tomkinsonsofliverpool.co.uk@79.17 ... ect_06.zip
This appears to work and is shorn of everything!
However, the frame doesn't go round the 4 sides of the image
Thanks for looking

I'm sorry, borders are currently not supported in full width mode.
I will investigate if this can be implemented in a future update.

Thanks for an honest answer.
It is - to me- obviously better to put a picture in a frame.
Is there maybe another way of doing it?

Maybe use a carousel instead?
