Existing site damaged online - Can't replace files

Hello, this is my first post on the WWB Forum.
I have WWB19 but I have had earlier versions and created a website at strategicresolution.co.uk in about 2014. I haven't done much with it but last year I migrated all my websites to the server of a new colleague. When I looked at strategicresolution.co.uk I saw that at some point in the past it must have been hacked because it had missing images and was disarranged. On my hard drive the .wbs file is complete as it was when I created the site. I think I should simply be able to publish the .wbs to the website newly and it would be repaired but this doesn't happen although I have tried several times. The server owner has checked there is no problem on the server so something has happened to the published files that stops them being replaced when I press publish. If I could simply delete all the existing on the site files then i think I should be able to start again and publish to a clean url. I would be very grateful for any suggestions or advice.
