FLS Horizontal Accordion

Post by NigelShaw »

Hi

i have made a new extension based on a thread that was recently posted. Its neat and tidy and easy to use. The horizontal accordion works best at 900 x 30 px so i have set it to this size at this time. Also, i have been looking for a good horizontal accordion :)

the demo ( original site ) is here-
http://www.alliancedefensefund.org/

the download
xxxx

i couldn't find any legal stuff or developer content so i placed the above website as the originator. i hope thats ok with the rules.

regs

Nigel

EDIT:

i have temporarily removed the download link until i can ensure that there isnt a copyright infringement. Im concious of this so will try and locate the developer for permission first.
Will update when i have more details.....

NS

Hi Nigel nice but I think that you need to be careful of this...as far as I see there is no download url for the script you have used, there is no mention of the author it simply looks like you have used the script from the url you provided and this will most likely break copyrights of the orininal author as it cannot be re distributed as it was custom made for the site you got it from and it may break one of the rules here just pointing this out to you....

terms of using extension before posting
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=17899
Do read the copyright on the script and if it is allows to be distributed free!

Hi Nigel a quick search of the jQuery and I found this kriesi_image_preoloader a "Google" search brought this back see url...looks like the script is part of a theme available to purchase named Newscast (Newscast is as always available for purchase at Themeforest for as low as 15 $) looks like it cannot be used....sorry

Hi, Nigel,

Sorry to see this extension go. Looks lovely.
However, have you seen the following accordions? I believe they may be open, and they are jquery.
http://tympanus.net/codrops/2010/04/26/ ... -and-css3/
http://tympanus.net/Tutorials/ElegantAccordion/
http://www.summithotels.com/summit/index.aspx
and also a slight but equally elegant variant http://tympanus.net/codrops/2010/09/06/ ... avigation/

In fact, the entire http://tympanus.net/codrops/ site makes me drool, hoping we could get quite a few extensions here from the knights of the WWB.
And yes, please do look at the accordion at http://www.flashxml.net/accordion.html You would find this accordion perhaps better than the one you had furnished, in terms of customizations.
This site http://www.flashxml.net/ also is a veritable Treasure Cave. Everything is free to use if you retain the watermark. We have one of their extensions, Image Scroller here, donno why others were not taken up.

All the best, looking forward.

Thanks in anticipation, Nigel.
I really wish you can make an accordion extension out of http://www.flashxml.net/accordion.html albeit with the watermark at the top left corner for free usage. It's the best I have seen in the varieties available, can also take videos. Their basic accordion http://www.flashxml.net/accordion-basic.html is totally free :D . It can also be made horizontal as the write-up there says.

http://tympanus.net/Tutorials/ElegantAccordion/ is also an equally good accordion and perhaps better in area available to the earlier one you had adapted. I do not know if it is flexible on size and number of panels.
