Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
[rz] Fix Tables v1.0.0
Do you have very long and complex tables?
Do you want to put some images with links over the cells?
But...
Despite the table's height, some images look misaligned, right?
Some rows have different heights, right?
Seems that some elements are misplaced, uh?
Are you experiencing issues between what you see and what you finally get?
Did you try the workarounds and solutions offered by WB?
Didn't work? or are you getting an extremelly long html?
Ok, don't blame on WB.
The huge problem is that each browser renders texts and tables as its own...
Tables are the most unreliable html element.
Anyhow, don't worry anymore!
You can have now pixel-perfect tables!
This extension is the extreme lightweight solution for pixel-perfect tables.
Sample project file included.
DOWNLOAD
HTML 4.01 Transitional
W3C compliant
How to use?
Just make your tables in WB as you usually do.
And then, put this extension on top and indicate the tables (the object id) that you want to convert to pixel-perfect ones. As simple as it is!
Hope you can find this useful.
Enjoy!

Hello Sub;
If you have long tables with borders, spacing, padding, texts combined with many fonts and sizes and have images in the cells and you want to put images with links over the table aligned with some cells and you don't get the expected alignment...
Not always the "optimize text for firefox/safari" comes to help... moreover, the result is an extremely long html code.
I tried several workarounds, but the things went even worse! And the results in opera were chaotic and discouraging. Believe me... was a pain.
After a few months making several tries and looking deeper inside the code and tweaking it... fortunately this method helped me with 100% of effectiveness.
Simply put this extension on top of the object manager, enter the table id, or if you have more than one table just enter each id separated by commas, and that's all! Now complex and pixel-perfect tables come to be a real thing! What a relief...
Best,
rz

is it possible to add a demo of it?
Thanks!

Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
as stated in the first post: sample project included
anyhow, i just made a print-screen.
this is the simplest case, but there are a far more complex ones.
also there is a huge difference between browsers, but fortunately this extension works for [almost] all of them!

Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
please read all the posts in this thread and see the attached image.
also the extension must be over the table (in the object manage).

Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
Oh man, I hope this works so badly. I HATE tables with every fiber in my body.
Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
nobody forces you to use this extension, just leave it. fortunately other users know when and how to use it and they found it useful.suflex wrote:Oh man, I hope this works so badly. I HATE tables with every fiber in my body.
by the way, please don't download ANY of my extensions, i don't give support (nor give any authorization to use my work) to disrespectful and close-minded people who insult the others' work.

I think there's a misunderstanding.
"Oh man, I hope this works so badly" = I hope this will solve my table problems.
"I HATE tables with every fiber in my body" = I hate html tables. I DO NOT hate your extension nor do I hate you.
I'm grateful that developers like you share your work with users like me. It's one of the reasons I bought WWB.
Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
"i hope this works so badly" is not the same as "i hope this work so badly"
please note the huge difference between: works (in this case a verb) and work (in this case a noun).
this is singular, so works is a verb (in this case and as you wrote).
these is plural, so works is interpreted as a plural noun.
so, as far as i can understand, the misunderstanding is not at my end.

My phone WORKS well = My phone FUNCTIONS well
I hate WORK = i dislike WORKING
I hope this WORKS = I hope this FUNCTIONS
I think the real issue is the expression "so badly". In North America, "I want something so bad" = "I want something so much"
Badass = Awesome. Non-native English speakers may think it's a "butt that's unattractive"
I can see the confusion, but this is a language barrier that I did not expect. Again, I meant no disrespect to you.
It's best to interpret what I originally wrote as "I want this to function so much so that my html table problems will be solved."
Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
YOUR confusion is verb/noun.
language (such as education) is beyond of the scope of this forum.
have a nice weekend.
ps: btw, this extension works fine and was the solution for some long and complex tables i have in a website. please see the attached image in a previous post, it is a very simple sample that may help to understand the purpose of this extension.

Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
You thought I said "I hope this functions poorly." How odd. Both interpretations are possible yet they're so different. lol[RZ] wrote:YOUR confusion is verb/noun.

Will do. Thanks for sharing.
Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
this is not what i thought but what you said.
i hope this workS so badly means you are expecting this extension works bad.
i hope this work so badly means -in your context- you are expecting this extension for a long time or this extension comes as your expected solution.

Hi [RZ] looks like it got "Lost in Translation" I believe what suflex is saying when he says "badly" he refers to very much (esp in the phrases need badly, badly in need of,tranalating means that he really was in need of your extension and will be used greatly....
Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
'Slang' isn't English
Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
@bf
thanks, but the "s" at the end makes a huge difference in the meaning.
@hakoo
thanks.

Hi RZ,
Cool down and take a deep breath, your extension is great and it would be a pity if it was restricted for use from some people.
Please have a look at this thread, suflex didn't mean anything "bad" for the extension.

Re: Pixel-perfect tables - the solution at hand.
ok, english is not my mother tongue. some expressions sound really bad, literally bad, not slang.
what in american may sound cool, here is not so cool. specially when a "half of a letter" can make a huge difference. anyhow, my mistake or not, his mistake or not, i didn't find yet any word like "sorry" or "apologies".
thanks for your input.
