[rz] Parallax Objects *** UPD 2014-Nov-13 ***
[rz] Parallax Objects v1.0.0.4
The most lightweight and simple solution to have amazing parallax background objects.
Supports both horizontal and vertical algorithms!
Maximum cross-browser and backward compatibility.
No jQuery required.
HTML 4.01 Transitional
W3C compliant
DEMO
Enjoy!
* NEW in version 1.0.0.4:
- Added support for RWD.
- Improved horizontal and vertical parallax algorithm.
- Added "move back" feature for an object; this allows to put it back and, if applies, outside the container for an easier parallax background configuration.
* NEW in version 1.0.0.3:
- Non-full-width objects/layers can be "parallaxed" even on centered pages preserving their relative position.
* NEW in version 1.0.0.2:
-"Sleep" points:
This is the complement of the previously implemented "wake-up" points.
Means within how many pixels must be scrolled the browser so as the parallax effect can take place:
if the pixels amount is not reached yet, the object remains fixed;
if the pixels amount is beyond the limit, the object remains fixed again.
-Bounds source:
Is the source of the active area in which the parallax effect takes effect.
The source can be the setup in the objects list (wake-up and sleep points) or the size of the extension, which acts as a "mapper"; this method is the same as in the [rz] PFO extension.
* NEW in version 1.0.0.1:
-"Wake-up" points:
How many scrolled down (horizontal and/or vertical) pixels are required to activate the parallax effect to an object.
Objects are initially fixed, once the "scroll level" is reached, objects start to move according to the selected ratio.
Zero means that the effect is immediately applied.

Re: [rz] Parallax Objects *** UPD 2014-Nov-13 ***
I would like to buy extension, but I don't like I have to wait taht first scrolling finishes that I can click on the anotjer menu link.
It is pretty annoying, because I feel as links are not working properly. :/
Can You do that menu links working all the time, like UPS extension works?
I am interested for "Parallax object" and "Parallax" extensions because I'll like to do something like this: http://www.culturalsolutions.co.uk/

the extension that you are referring to is not part of the [rz] Parallax Objects extension
you can use the navigation you want
however, it is planned very soon an update for the [rz] Elegant Scroll extension

So, I can use Parallax Object in combination with UPS instead of ES and then menu links will work without waiting?[RZ] wrote:the extension that you are referring to is not part of the [rz] Parallax Objects extension

Re: [rz] Parallax Objects *** UPD 2014-Nov-13 ***
the new [rz] Elegant Scroll is ready and will be released within three hours from the time of this post
it will have 3 cycle modes:
full and chained (no wait to complete the cycle but each cycle is fully done)
full and not chained (must wait the cycle to be completed)
cancelable (the current cycle is stopped, and continue with the next cycle faster)

So, To get what I want I must use ES with "cancelable" option together with PO?[RZ] wrote:the new [rz] Elegant Scroll is ready and will be released within three hours from the time of this post

BTW: You have excellent extensions on your page.
They can do wonderful things for which I did not think that even possible to do with WB10.
I have not checked all jet, but this what I've seen is enough for delight.
The site go into my favorites.

This is excellent work [Rz] Yafe meod
I have been experimenting with 3D effects using 2D images in a graphics program, I have seen some websites using this technique using parallax, it kind of looks like like Ken Burns effect with a bit of stretching
Can your extension achieve this using events / timed objects ?
If I scroll the cursor left, right, up or down for example it shifts / stretches the parallax layers (2D images) diagonally (ken burns) to create the "3D" effect then back again when the cursor is moved away ?
Many Thanks

Sorry for the confusion
Something like this rendered using a webpage, is what I am experimenting with (not a video but a webpage)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0B5SxU-p70
The only thing is the stretching which is puzzling me (transform maybe) as the stretching adds depth to the final perspective
Thanks for replying anyway [Rz]

Re: [rz] Parallax Objects *** UPD 2014-Nov-13 ***
got it
the issue is that the mouse movements are 2D
how should be interpreted to make a 3D effect like this?

Re: [rz] Parallax Objects *** UPD 2014-Nov-13 ***
The effect of course is fake (not really 3D), I was imagining the movement of the cursor would trigger the movement of the parallax layer (not just up and down but left and right also)
If I point the cursor to the top left of the screen (viewport), the parallax layer (image) would shift accordingly (not just up and down but diagonally up/left), then if I move the cursor back to the centre of the screen the layer (image) would reset all square with the screen (viewport)
WOW I think I explained it correctly ??
By doing this 3 layers for example could create the 3D "effect"
1: a static (or moving) background image set to back
2: a second layer moving in the opposite direction to the top layer to create the effect
3: the top focused layer with the item on that moves position opposite to the second layer
The only other thing would be to stretch the second layer (image) as it moves in the opposite direction to the top layer (this would give it some perspective, maybe adding some blur ?)
All 3 layers would act together depending on where the cursor is located on the page (parallax)

Re: [rz] Parallax Objects *** UPD 2014-Nov-13 ***
well, currently the extension supports up to five images instead of three
let me think if some zoom-in/out effect can be added
i will be able to experiment with this once the new version is ready, as i'm rewriting it almost from scratch

Hi there,
I just bought this extension as I wanted an effect like your Demo (section 3) with the scrolling backgrounds. The effect works only at certain page sizes. If the browser size is changed the effect goes wrong. However this does not happen on your demo. Any idea what I am doing wrong ?
A tutorial on how you did the sliding background effect would be useful

the demo is not a fixed background at all
just look again at the elements with the transparencies
drag the scrollbar track to see the effect, perhaps the scrollbar arrows in chrome are not so smooth

Re: [rz] Parallax Objects *** UPD 2014-Nov-13 ***
I know this thread is a bit old, but I really need parallax capability and bootstrap is a bit of a pain, so I'd rather use my tried and true WYSIWYG Builder 10.
Does this webpage: http://www.magnawebstudio.com/demo/para ... age_3.html
Come with your Parallax Objects control for WYSIWYG Website Builder 10?
I am really in need of this effect and if I can create that kind of parallax website (responsive as well) with WYSIWYG Builder 10, then I need to buy this ASAP.
Which pack does it come in (Pro, Gold. Diamond)? I'd rather buy a pack and get a bunch of extensions then just one.
I assume you support this extension if I have questions?
Mike

if you already have the graphical elements, the idea about what you want to accomplish and some basic wb skills, just some minutes
for very complex designs, perhaps some maths may help, and some minor adjustments until you get the final desired result
