Page Jumping with Layout Grid

Opened and closed WWB several times with the same results. Unless noted default settings.
Open WWB – drag layout grid onto canvas – change to one cell, set width at minus 970 – drag text object onto canvas – enter text – drag text object into layout grid, – page width jumps to 1721, varies with each try.

When dragging the text object into the grid try dropping in different places. Also once inside the grid continue to drag to the right. The page width will jump. (Is there a way to lock the page width?)

please check this:

go to Arrange -> Guide Settings and make sure 'Lock page width (no automatic size adjustment)' is checked.

Thanks Crispy, right on page 53 of the user guide.
(It's actually under View --- Guide Settings)
I'll check it out tonight. Hope that helps with the responsive menu problem, collapsing before the break point.
