The 'Google-like' logo is just an image, added it via the 'Image' property of the Panel Menu

This is documented in the help (F1).
See "How to add social icons?" and "How to add a divider?"

Thank You!
Everything is working out nicely
How would I change the button background color to be different then the menu background color?

I'm guessing on the overlay nav menu - the background has to be transparent to some extent? Cannot be solid?

I knew about the alpha setting - but for some reason it would not move passed the 250 mark. It's working now though - so the issue is resolved.
btw ... when it comes to the panel menu and overlay menu, are they basically the same thing? is there an advantage to using one over the other?

They are both different menus.
The overlay menu is full screen, the panel menu is a panel at the right or left side.
The overlay menu support multiple levels.

Just wondering if this ever made it into consideration for development?

In the current version the button can have a different background as the menu.
