Scroll down in a text box

Post by Norfolkman »

I have a text box which contain a long list of items.
In WWB, only the top 16 are visible. How do I scroll down to see and edit the rest? The page displays correctly on the website OK
and was created in an earlier version of WWB.
I am sure that previously in WWB I was able to double click inside the textbox and scroll up or down.

What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks

If you wish to add scrolling to the text you can set overflow of the text to 'scroll'
You can find the overflow property in the Property Inspector.

Doesn't that just apply when it is uploaded and actually viewed on a website? Everything is OK online. It is just within WB15 itself that I can't scroll. I have found a workaround and that is to drag the bottom handle down until I can see them all and then after editing, drag the handle back to where it was, but I'm sure I didn't have to do that before.

I have just opened the same file in WB14 on another PC and there is a scroll bar within the textbox which is how I remember it!
The same file opened in WB15 does not have a scroll bar! In both cases, the overflow is set to "scroll".
I then opened the file in WB15 on another PC and that does not have a scroll bar!
It seems that it is missing in WB15.

Could someone try it please? create a text box of fixed size. Add enough content to make it overflow, set "overflow" to 'scroll' and see if a scrollbar appears. It does in WB14

Many thanks,

WB15 has a new text editor, this does not support scrolling during editing.
Note that scrollbar was never an official feature in previous versions, it was just a side effect/bug because there was an inplace editor,on top of the workspace. In WB15 the text editor is now integrated.

Thanks Pablo,
That is a great shame! It seems the only thing I can do is to extend the textbox to allow me to see all the rows and then after editing, to drag the textbox back to size. Is this likely to be added in the future?

I'm sorry, this feature cannot be added because WB15 no longer uses an external editor.
