Design boxes missing

This rates up there on the 'Dumb Question' scale, but in Design Mode I'm missing all the selections on the left side of the screen. The options for Text type, Menus, Extensions, etc. I've checked the options in the 'View' menu but nothing seems to be there. Not sure where they went, but I need them back.
