PhotoGallery not responsive Help!

Post by Stockport »

Hi,
I'm obviously missing something obvious here but I can't get the PhotoGallery to be responsive even though it is set to responsive.
I opened the demo file 'gallery-demo9' which works fine but if I copy the layoutgrid and gallery to the SAME page OR to a NEW page in a new project it no longer works as it should. All I get is a resizing/rescaling of the entire PhotoGallery.
If I try to recreate the PhotoGallery EXACTLY as the settings in the demo file, it refuses to be responsive even though the thumbnail size is set to responsive.
I am using the latest WYSIWYG update 15.4.2
Any help with this would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Another thing I noticed.........Photogallery in the original demo file has an exclamation by the number of columns (this property has responsive values) but if the layout grid containing the Photogallery is copied and pasted onto the same page of the demo file the exclamation mark and (this property has responsive values) disappears and the copy is not responsive. On my attempts to recreate a responsive Photogallery I do never get the exclamation mark.

Right click on the page of the demo and select Responsive Web design and you will see 3 breakpoints besides default. Add them (or breakpoints of your choosing) to your new project page and set breakpoints to be activated when screen is smaller. Then in your design page when you select a breakpoint (I use the right click/Responsive web design method and click on the breakpoint) to move to that breakpoint. Then open properties for your gallery and set columns to your desired number such as 2 (they will probably all be 4 columns to start). Repeat for the other breakpoints. The demo uses 4,3,2,1 as the breakpoints get smaller. It should all work now.

To be able to help you, I need to see what you have done.
Do you have a demo project?

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to reply bkjohns. Much appreciated!
All worked fine as you so kindly and patiently described. Being new to this, I read carefully through the help file and tutorial but could not find the actual procedural steps to accomplish this. Your additional guidance was exactly what I needed!
Thank You.
