Hi,
I'm rebuilding my website and I'm having problems with the gallery I've created.
I've used a layout grid with a gallery within this.
I've added around 130 photos to the gallery, each is between 40KB and 200KB
The default page has 4 columns for the photos, but I wanted the mobile/480 page to just have a couple of columns as 4 looks too small for a mobile screen. So I've tried to copy the layout grid and gallery from the default page to the mobile page, but the program keeps freezing, and now the mobile page wont open at all!
Am I overloading the gallery, or is it my laptop that's struggling? I'm using a new-ish Dell Inspiron 14 3000 with a Pentium sliver processor, so not the most powerful laptop.
Thanks,
Rich

Re: Gallery problems
I think you have too many images, so it takes a lot of time to process the images.
But why are you making a copy of the images? You can reuse the same images in the breakpoint.

Re: Gallery problems
I would admit having 130 photos is a lot so you may want pair it down a bit to your best ones.
But the problem lies with the fact you are duplicating the gallery which is not necessary. The photo gallery is responsive when using breakpoints. In the default view you have it set to 4 columns. Simply go to your breakpoint, open the gallery and change the columns to 2. You can have different # of columns in each breakpoint.

Hi Pablo and crispy68
Yeah, you're right - 130 photos is too much. It was grinding the processing to a halt.
I can't believe I was making a new gallery for each breakpoint! I presumed that when I changed the number of columns in the mobile breakpoint, it would change the default break point too, but like you say - it doesn't. So clever.
Thank you for your help
