Closing last tab closes project

Post by jwellbelove »

It's always been a slight annoyance that when I close the last tab in a project, it closes the entire project, forcing me to open it again (which automatically opens again the tab that I wanted to closed).

I end up having to remember to keep at least one tab open (even if it's not one I want to edit anymore), just so I can open the page that I actually do want to edit, and then close the first one. This is different to a lot of other software I use, that allows an option to "Close all tabs", without closing the project.

This is standard functionality, it was not implemented specially for WWB. As a developer I have no control over how this works.
Also, it seems to work the same as browsers, or other multi-page document applications.
However, the project will not close before asking you if you want to save the changes.

That's curious. When I close the final tab it doesn't shut down it just leaves a blank tabless area.
And of course asks you if you want to save the changes if there are any.

None of my programming IDEs work that way, nor do any of my image editors.

That wouldn't be a problem if the Site Manager window still showed the project, so I could just click on the next page I want to view/edit.
Unfortunately I have to go File -> Recent -> Select project -> Select page to edit -> Close page I don't want to see anymore.

I use my programming IDEs more than WYSIWYG Editor, so I'm used to closing all of the open tabs when I want to move on to the next issue.

I misunderstood you. When you said it closes the entire project I thought you meant it closes wwb.

FWIW:
I don't have the option "Open the most recent used page of the project" set in Options > General.
The index tab is therefore always showing which I never close.
