Link to File Explorer

Post by cwlutterloh »

The latest version of MS Edge broke my links to file explorer. I used to be able to have a link open a network location via file explorer. With the updated Edge it no longer work. It doesn't work in Chrome either. Current settings:

Link to: "File"
File name: ///server/folder/

A link to a local file should include the 'file://' prefix

I tried

"file//server/share/" in the filename under link but it goes to page "about:blank"

I think it should be:
file://server/share/

Note that this is unrelated to the software.

Is there anything in the program that can insert a link to a file folder?

Links are standard HTML functionality, this is not specific to WWB.
Anything that will work in HTML will also work with WWB.

When I highlight a word and choose "Link" What settings should I use in the "Edit link" options to get a folder location to open in file explorer?

That works for the old Edge and IE but not updated Edge or Chrome.

As mentioned by Pablo this is unrelated to the software but a issue(s) with the browsers. From reading it seems that this is no longer supported in the "Newest" version of Edge and Chrome. I came across the following url that may help you (sorry I can't help with any solutions there) https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/ ... m-p/425906
There is also a browser "Extension" (unrelated to WB extensions) see the following
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... ackld?hl=e As mentioned there is no support on either of the links as only provide for information only!
