Draggable iFrames

Post by mygis »

Hi,
I was wondering if it would be possible to create a page with iframes that users could drag and drop around the page to re-arrange them. The scenario is that I have a few live data represented in histograms and tables that I want the users to be able to re-arrange the way they want or even closing them.

Thanks.

Maybe this will be useful?

Note that this extension is no longer supported, but it may still work.

Hi Pablo,
Thanks for the info. In short, yes this is what I am looking for. The long version is that I have read that it would not be working on 64Bit, I am using version16.1.1 64bit. I tried installing the extension though, it says that it is installed successfully but I cannot find it on the interface. Maybe a new version would be available one day.

May I know what is the technical name for it? Is it portlets?

You are right, this extension is not available for the 64bit version.

The technical name is 'portlets'

Hi,

I have found many examples here: https://jqueryui.com/demos/

They require some modifications, but they will do the trick.

Hi Pablo,

I tried to install the extension, but I do not see anything happening. Would it be the fact that I would not work on version 16.x?
That would be fantastic if it did work though.

Thanks

Hi Pablo,
I do not get how it works. Let me try to figure it out first then comment further.

Again, thanks for the pointers.
