Panel Menu not working correctly on tablet

I have a project that includes a Panel Menu which appeared to be working correctly until I tested it on my Samsung Tab A with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels.

Whilst it shows correctly in landscape view when I turn it to portrait it loses the background image. I have stripped down the project to just the Panel Menu on a vanilla page and can be downloaded from https://www.dropbox.com/s/9rhavwqap4p6b ... u.wbs?dl=0.

Can anyone think why this might happen?

Older versions of Android browser may not support background size - > cover in combination with the 'fixed' position of the menu.
You can try to set the background size to <empty>

Hi Pablo, unfortunately that did not work and the change also adversely affected the rendering on my android phone. The tablet is running Android 10 so I am not using a very old version - Android 11 only came out 4 months ago.

I have reduced the elements on the page to the Panel Layer with an image for the background and a layer containing the Menu Panel and I still get the same effect. The image is seen when in landscape but disappears when in portrait. However if I change the background to a solid colour the menu renders correctly. Very strange.

I think I will have to live with it if there is no obvious reason why this is happening and maybe do without an image.

EDIT Not sure if this is relevant but I am using an image from Unsplash.

Update - Have subsequently tried using a local image and it works as expected so problem appears to be with Unsplash image.

Further update - having tried a number of possible answers such as downloading the image from Unsplash and placing it in a local folder, renaming the file and resizing I eventually wondered if it was the default Chrome browser that was the problem. Having downloaded the Firefox for Android browser I discovered that the background image rendered properly. I then downloaded the Edge browser for Android but once again the image did not appear so it seems to be a Chromium problem. I have submitted a report.

However I still can't think what is different in the images from Unsplash to those in my local folder that do work apart from the lack of meta data.
