Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
Hi, I dragged this "problem" from WWB 16, but it had a solution, now I don't remember exactly how I solved it that time.
It happens in texts with Google Fonts.
Latest WWB17.0.1 Oct 5, 2021.
The texts are not complete (see attached image). Only within WWB, since in preview or published everything looks perfect.
For example, if I have a text in arial..example of 40px and THEN change the font to one of Google ... the text appears with a large top margin. I reiterate that when publishing everything looks perfect, and this happens to me only when I'm inside WWB creating ..
Anything in the configuration that I need to change?

Thanks!!

Re: Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
Maybe you have set the line-height to small?
In that case, the text may be clipped.
If you need further assistance, then please share a DEMO project so I can see all your settings.

Here is the demo, the only thing it has are 2 texts and nothing else as an example.

I await your verdict!
PS: To test this, I reinstalled WB16 and everything is fine, so on my side it only happens to me in wb17
Re: Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
I see the same as you with the demo project
Re: Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
As mentioned in my previous reply, I think this related to the line height.
Please select/highlight the text and set the line-height to 1.0 or higher.

Re: Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
I changed it as suggested and that worked. But I don't need to do it for other fonts such as Arial. So what is different about these?

Re: Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
I have mentioned this before, this is a bug in Windows. it calculates the wrong line-height for fonts that don’t use the standard design units of 2048.I changed it as suggested and that worked. But I don't need to do it for other fonts such as Arial. So what is different about these?
I have reported this to Microsoft a few months ago and they told me it will be fixed in a future Windows update.
Re: Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
Ah, it's that problem.
Thanks

Re: Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
Ok but, why in wwb16 works perfect? And not in wwb17.
I will try to find a solution.
Kind regards.

Re: Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
In WWB16 there was a workaround (hack), which automatically updated the line-height for some fonts.
However, because Microsoft told me they would fix I did not include this in WB17.
In the meantime, I have enabled the workaround again (in the latest build), for the time being.

Re: Google Fonts looks bad inside WWB17
Sorry for what I'm going to mention ... did Microsoft ever really listen to users? My experience reporting a lot of bugs, real bugs from client companies ... not once did they fix anything. We had to find how to get around these issues. Unless it interests them.Pablo wrote: ↑Wed Oct 06, 2021 11:26 am In WWB16 there was a workaround (hack), which automatically updated the line-height for some fonts.

Thanks Pablo for your solution, I installed and it works great!
Kind regards.

I spoke to the developer who is responsible for maintaining this part of Windows.
The functionality is also used by MS Office so they were happy that I did report it.
However, before they can release the fix Windows it will take more time to test because it needs to be backward compatible with many other applications.
