*** SOLVED *** preview page different than published
I made another revision of my homepage. Unfortunately, after uploading all changed files to the server, the published page is very different from the preview. Where is the mistake?

Re: preview page different than published
Are you sure you uploaded all the files? There is no difference between preview and publish. If there is it means a file is missing from the server.
Re: preview page different than published
I sorted all local files by modification time and only uploaded the ones that were modified to the server. All files appear the same.
Re: preview page different than published
Why do I see differences in the online version?
Re: preview page different than published
Did you upload new or changed files in subdirectories?

Re: preview page different than published
It looks either like a CSS or JS thing to me. Make sure all CSS and JS files are uploaded even if they don't show modified.
Re: preview page different than published
I copied all files again. I even compared the contents with the directory ../AppData/Local/Temp/preview/ where files for preview are loaded by default.
Still the same. See:

Re: preview page different than published
If its any help - when I had a problem I uploaded the whole website again (not just the changed pages) and that solved the problem.
Whatever files it is looking for/missing are found when uploading the complete site.
Worth a try.
Also worth checking in a different web browser in case its a cache thing ............

For me, the website looks like this:
https://wasowscy.net/images/Temp/i_preview.jpg
However, the website is very slow. I think this is because of the large images.
Also, you have added us custom scripts, this may also afdfetc the performance and behavior of the page.

Re: preview page different than published
I see the same thing as Pablo. Looks correct to me. Do a hard refresh of the browser (control F5) to make sure it's not a cache problem

On my 3 browsers, the page still looks bad despite having a hard page refresh. Why do I see it like that? Besides, I resized the photos to 300x225px (about 20-30k each) and tested the page with GTMetrix: got 2x 'Analysis Error, Lighthouse Error: The page took too long to load (No CPU idle period)'.
I only put in the built-in WWB17 add-on 'Slide Show', type: Conveyer belt 'with 32 photos instead of simply one picture. Apparently it's too much. Should I give it up? After all, the website is very simple ...

I have a puzzle for you related to this topic:
I cloned a malfunctioning page, named it 'index2.html' and copied it to the server. Everything works on my PCs and GTMetrix tests look pretty good.
See here: https://wasowscy.net/images/Temp/GTM_index2.jpg
Why?
Re: preview page different than published
Maybe this page does not have the custom code?
Re: preview page different than published
It's clone done by WWB17! I do nothing more. So? How it's possible?
Please check my wbs, meantime I will try to compare the html and css codes line by line. I am really curious why this is happening, because it is not the first time. I have many sub-pages, which are clones. Sometimes the cloned page behaves strangely.
Re: preview page different than published
For me, there is no difference. It already worked before the page was cloned.
I doubt tat this has anything to do with cloning the page.
I still think this is a cache related issue.

Re: preview page different than published
Not for the first time, it turned out that the reason for the differences I saw was the server cache. On the second day, even though I didn't modify anything , the visibility of the page was the same as in the preview.
Pls close topic as solved.

Re: *** SOLVED *** preview page different than published
Just an idea, if you think you have this issue, try opening the web page in another browser. I often find this works for me.
