I am playing with 'Editable Content'.
I have only created the 2 pages 'Editable Content' with some dummy text & 'Editable Content Admin' - I have deliberately left all defaults for the Admin table.
The problem is the 'Admin' table is not shown, I just get an empty page.
I published using WWB so hopefully all files were published.
I watched the Dapson youtube tutorial as well and did not see anything additional on there.
I am missing something obvious I am sure, but cannot figure what else I need to do ?
Thanks

Did you publish all files?
Is the folder writable?

Re: Editable Content
Hi,
WWB is set to publish all files so I guess it has.
I published to the main directory and made the pages 777 and I also tried to publish to a sub folder and made that 777 but nothing works for some reason.
I am obviously doing something wrong but I don't find the instruction page detailed enough - other people seem to use it so must be me.
For example .... do I create a subfolder within the WWB structure before publishing because if not then the 2 pages just get published to the main directory and i cannot make that 777 for obvious reasons - should I manually create a new folder on the server and move the files there and make that 777, but if so how do I tell the pages to use that folder to store the .json files as I see nothing in the configuration files to set that link ........ do all pages that have editable content need to be in a folder (777) or just the admin page - or do i have to manually create a folder on the server and publish the admin page on its own as a separate process to the rest of the website ?
The instructions just say “ Make sure the folder on the server where you publish the page to is writable. For example: 775 or 777” - but if the pages are published with the rest of the website then they wont be in their own folder and surely the main directory should not be set to 775/777 !
As you can probably tell i need a little more detail ……

Re: Editable Content
You not have to create a subfolder.
The JSON file will be created in the samer folder as the HTML page.
Did you read this?
http://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/editable_content.html
Are there any errors on the page?
What is the URL?

Re: Editable Content
Hi, yes i read it.
So just to confirm, if no sub folder is needed then the main directory containing the complete website (as thats where these pages will be published with all the other pages etc) has to be writable - is that correct?
I would not have thought that to be good practice but if you say that is ok then i will try it.
The instructions state the folder you publish too has to be writable - so i assumed this was a seperate folder and not the main directory.
I have deleted the pages for now until i had a clearer understanding of the implementation so i will need to try again.
Thanks

If you do not want this, then put the pages in a separate folder.
