Menu not working

I have a site with the top menu. Assigned linked pages to the menu items but when I open site preview none of the menu links works.
any ideas ?

Preview only opens the current page you are working on. Therefore no links to other pages in the project works. You can activate in: Options/Publish/Preview/Preview scope/Entire Web Site
Then you can use the links in the project, but notice... depending on the size of the project this will take more time and use more memory to achieve.

Yes I am completely aware of both settings. I published the site to the XAMPP (on another drive). The Home page opens but the menu links are crazy. I can open one page from the Mreu but then (when this page open) I cannot go back to the Home page and nothing else works. All other links are dead.

OK after some experimenting I suspect bugs. I really do not see what I could have been doing wrong.
For example:
- MEGA MENU, I add menu items they show up in the Popup window. The moment I click OK they are gone and the popup window re-opens with 3 default items.


I have used those features in the WB15 and never had any problems. form the user end point, It is really not a rocket science to add items, link pages and click OK....

Note: I do not need the complete project because that will only take more time to figure out what you have done.
Basically, I just need a small project with one page and object(s) that are relevant to your question.

Thanks for replying.
When I installed WB17 it was an upgrade from v16. Upon installation there was a question to import settings from old version, so I wonder if this could have affect anything. I also tested a simple data table extension and it is not working as well. I also do not see any help on how to use this extensions. there are some fields on the pop-up screen which I am unsure hot to use (for example column list from the database).
I also tried to use a master page but cannot get my head around how this supposed to be setup...

I will try to create new test project and double check what happens with the menu and if the problem persists I will send zipped project.
