vcruntime140.dll

Post by Billywiz »

I am trying to install WB on my new computer but get the following error

WebBuilder.exe-System Error

The code execution cannot proceed because
VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times with no success, I have deleted the zip file in case it was corrupted and re-downloaded the zip file again, I have also checked the system32 folder and the VCRUNTIME140.dll is in there. I have also rebooted the computer after each installation/uninstall and still with no success.
Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers

No, for 64 bit you will only need vc_redist.x64.exe

Maybe it is blocked by your firewall or virus-scanner?
Did you also try the 32-bit version?

I havent got a virus scanner installed yet, its a new machine, I am running the 32 bit version.
I cant understand why WB cant find it as it is in the system folder.

I have just tried again with 32 bit version and it wont install so I downloaded the 64 bit version and that installed OK.
I didnt really want to install the 64 bit version yet until I complete the transfer of files from my old PC to the new one so as not to create a conflict anywhere.
Any other ideas how I can get round installing the 32 bit version.

This is a standard system file, so this issue is not directly related to WWB.

The 32bit version does not need this file.

Sorry, but I think you have some things mixed up.
Please uninstall everything and start over. The 32-bit version does not look for this file.

Christiaan,
I have windows 10 home 64 bit on both machines

Pablo,
I am not going to try to install 32 bit, I am going to stick with 64 and if a problem arises I know where to come.

Try to delete regedit keys // Re: vcruntime140.dll

Post by christiaan »

For a complete uninstall you could try delete the WWB registry key BUT export this registry key BEFORE you delete.

To be save you should backup your entire system using a system backup solution BEFORE you edit the Windows registry.

By deleting the WWB registry key all WWB settings will be gone.

The path to the WWB Windows registry key is:

Code: Select all

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Pablo Software Solutions\WYSIWYG Web Builder 17
But keep in mind:
Edit or delete the wrong registry key can corrupt your system.

I'm not responsible for any damage, do this on your own risk and backup first.
