Videocam security system/script

Post by Bluesman »

Hi all. I have been asked by a poor neighborhood here in Quito, Ecuador to set up a camera surveillance system. If someone has any experience or tips for scripts that I can use in WWB I will be very happy. My own idea is to invest in some wireless outdoor cams with IP for connecting to a 3rd party system or if I can implement directly to WWB. WWB 17 will be the platform. I have my own webserver to set up the script on.
They are in a very big need of this because the criminality has increased and at nighttime almost anarchy. So I promised I should look in to it and see if I can do something to as small costs as possible.
The people in the nieghborhood shall be able to log into the sytem from webpage and have a view of all connected cameras.

Very grateful to get ideas

hey @blue
For the web solution didn't found much but you can see some tricks from here
https://videos.cctvcamerapros.com/i/ip- ... bsite.html

I do use IP cameras but usually use softwares for it.
Don't know about the web solution but I do have some windows based softwares which may help them, and it is free.

Hi wwonderfull. Thankyou very much, was some very interesting examples. Wonder why I didn't find them when I Googled the web :o
Wonder if you as a experienced user can give a tip what can be most useful for us.
My idea from the beginning was to setup a system on the webserver where I can manage and the users can login from web...
But after looking at your different links I get a little confused what can be the best for us??
Thanks again

It completely depend on what exactly is needed interms of the security surveillance. I would say to make things simple as possible. There are tons of videos in youtube on how to setup an ip camera using the softwares I have given, many tutorials. You can use amy depending on the number of cameras you want to monitor 🙂

Some commercial cameras have this software - I use cameras from Genbolt which have software that anyone can use with the appropriate username and password.

Yeah as @Alan said depends on camera and built in softwares also. So if the Ip camera has softwares then all configs can be done easily according to that. Besides when buying the camera the sellers also can give some tip on how to use them with which software. But as you have asked for "does it mean that all neighbors in this community can use the same software for same cameras" well I have tried it from multiple devices which works you can use https://www.ispyconnect.com/ software for the 1st test and then check all the others, it also states:
Remote Access
Agent uses custom tech to avoid the usual requirement of opening up ports on your router for remote access. Access from anywhere over SSL with zero router configuration. It even works if Agent is running behind a strict firewall or over a mobile network.

which is amazing right :D
So I think it wont be a problem at all you can see some tutorials from below links

Tnx Alan and wwonderfull, I was thinking of order a camera system on Amazon, but when I ask about specific things like the range of the wifi to the cameras etc I get no answer. I shall wait some days more... The support is not like here in WWB forum, which is the best.

The "range" or signal is dependent on the strength of the WiFi from the router along with the surroundings around it. This includes distance between point "A" and "B" the thickness of walls, and any other obstacles. So if the WiFi signal or range of the router is limited to within the area of use then anything outside of that will not be able to pickup. Many if not all WiFi cameras have their own app/apk so you can install on any cell/mobile (android, iPhone) device that you can pair to the camera and router along as the device is WiFi enabled so you can view from anywhere you are, in some instances the apk can be installed on more than one so multiple user can use to view.

Try this search criteria embed ip camera into a web page and embed cctv camera into a web page

video for ip camera https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djvhZ1w6qco

If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.
