Cut n paste??
Hi all, a silly question maybe, I think I am missing something; how do I cut or copy and then paste something in another position on a page?
If I copy something I often wish to place it somewhere else on my page...perhaps down the bottom..but what I am finding is when I 'paste' it it just pastes a copy directly over the original position...what do I need to do?
Many thanks
Paul.

Re: Cut n paste??
After the paste can't you just drag it to where you want?

Re: Cut n paste??
If you use the context menu or use 'paste' while the cursor is in the workspace then the objects will be place at the current position.

Re: Cut n paste??
There are two options for paste.
'Paste' which will paste in a different location - then you can freely move it where you want, OR
'Paste in place' which will paste in the same location from where it was copied (this is helpful when pasting on a different page but you want the image/text in the same location on both pages)

I’ve never seen it paste in the current position.Pablo wrote: Thu May 26, 2022 11:31 am If you use the context menu or use 'paste' while the cursor is in the workspace then the objects will be place at the current position.
It seems to paste it quite a way off the current position.

Re: Cut n paste??
The objects should be pasted exactly where the mouse cursor is.
Note however that floating content will be inserted at end of the layout.

It only seems to paste at the current point when you use CTRL-V.Pablo wrote: Thu May 26, 2022 11:57 am The objects should be pasted exactly where the mouse cursor is.

Strange - I use the mouse to copy and paste/paste in place and it works as I stated (Using v17.2)

Yes, paste-in-place does work, I am referring to just paste.

Re: Cut n paste??
When you do a right-click paste the top-left corner of the object is positioned where the cursor is within the context menu.

Re: Cut n paste??
Thanks for your assistance all.
WBB Man, I may not have explained it well but I do know you can simply cut and paste and drag the duplicated object to anywhere on the page but if I am at the top and want to paste at the bottom I had a problem.
Pablo...I didn't quite understand this; Note however that floating content will be inserted at end of the layout.
Could you explain?
Thanks again.
Paul.

Re: Cut n paste??
It means for example if you copy a layout grid and then paste it, the grid will be pasted at the bottom of the layout.

Re: Cut n paste??
By "floating content" I meant layout gird, flexbox, card container etc. Also, known as flexible layout.
