Web Builder 7 files corrupted?

Post by mcruss »

OK, I know, 7 is an antique. But I built a personal web site way back then with it and it has been functioning just fine (I also use Web Builder 15...)
But just now when I went to update some photos, WB7 won't open the CSS files, only shows content in Notebook. The only file that will open is index. I'm not a pro at this but have been doing OK with minor exceptions. This is a new one for me!

So if it is too late to work with WB7, how do I update the web site to WB15?

As far as I know......... you never could edit CSS files with it. WWB generates it based on your visual settings.

Jerry is right - all the necessary files (CSS, HTML etc.) are generated from the WBS file that you worked with.

I don't know if version 15 will open a version 7 WBS file, but you could give it a try, assuming you still have it.

WB7 won't open the CSS files, only shows content in Notebook.
Note WB7 is no longer supported. This is unrelated to the software and is a system configuration issue. This happens when you associate the css to open in notepad so it explains why you are seeing this
Please see the following:

As like WB7 WB15 is no longer supported. With this said you should be able to open in WB15 but with the issue it may still be the same due to what I previously mentioned about file association (css opening in notepad) which you will need to fix first. The other issue you may have opening is you will need to have all and any extensions used in WB7 so install before trying.
