Alignment in cells

Post by Norfolkman »

When I enter text or graphics into a table cell, they jump to top left or to the next available position. I need to place items anywhere I want in the cell.
My mind has gone blank!! I know there is an option to stop this happening but cannot remember what it is.
Any help much appreciated.

You cannot freely position elements in a table. All table content is 'floating'.
The alignment of table cells can be set via the table properties.

Note that the purpose of a table is to create text columns. it is not meant to be used for layouts.
