Is it software problem?

Post by Joel »

Hi,

My HP laptop was reset to factory setting Windows 10 and I reinstalled WYSIWYG 17.4.2 (64-version).
Everything was good and then suddenly I cannot preview. When I click 'preview', the program closes. Tried to open a different project, the program closes.
I ran troubleshooting and got a message "WebBuilder incompatible".

Before the reset, I had Windows 10 and WYSIWYG 17(64-version) as well.
Can you, please, help?

There are no known issues with preview, otherwise it would have already been fixed.
If it has previously worked then it's is most likely something related to your configuration.

But to be able to help you I need more details.
Where extactly does it stop working?

I vaguely remember seeing something like this before and it turned out that one of the C++ libraries wasn't installed.

I'm not sure what WWB requires - Pablo will know.

After I reinstalled WYSIWYG yesterday, I was fixing the project and everything was fine. The only thing I changed was in Tools, where I chose 'automatically use @font-face for non-web face fonts' and added M PLUS 1p in google font manager.
But I did the same before the reset and everything was working perfect.

Then, I wanted to preview and the program closed. Can't even open another project because the same thing is happening.

As alan_sh reply regarding C++ Libaries see the following similar thread with answers from myself and Pablo.

Do you mean just vc_redist.x64 or Visual C++ Redistributable as well?
Because I downloaded both and still the same problem

Do you have the same problem with a new (empty) project?
Do you have the same problem if you preview in another browser?
Did you install all extension that are used by your projetc?
Did you restore all files from your backup to the document folder (including images)?

Once again, it has work for you previously, so this can only be a configuration issue.

I managed to change something (I wish I knew what it was as I was trying everything) and now other projects are working fine including preview.
My most important one does not unfortunately. I can still work on it and even publish but NOT preview.
Any idea if and what I can do?

Maybe you need to send THAT project (.WBS file) to Pablo. He may be able to see it.

Have you tried removing any extensions to see if one of those is causing the problem?

Do any of the pages have php in them such as a "Form" or have you set the page extension to .php rather than .html/.htm as this would explain why you cannot "Preview"
