*** SOLVED *** install WWB 18

Hi there to the experts,
my system WIN 10 and would like to try WWB 18
But installation stops with: ... unable to create the directory c:\users\JV\documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder
I`ve got admin rights to install programms but I´m at a loss to this problem ! No idea how to solve this problem !

Can anybody help ?

The folder may be 'locked ' by Windows folder protection.
Add webbuilder to exception list of your firewall, virus-scanner and ransomware protection.
or temporarily rename the folder, so a new folder with the correct permissions will be created.

I´m sorry. Can´t install wwb18. Have been trying for almost 3 hours.

• Unlocked the document folder.

• Webbuilder is part of the exception list of the firewall.

• I´m the admin.

(Had similar problems with wwb17; don´t know what and where setup64.exe wants to install anything!)
Absolutely no idea about what wwb18 wants to have or expects on my PC ...
Quite confusing and I think I´ll give up!

This is a simple suggestion, did you unzip the package before running the .exe inside it?

I am sure this is related to permissions so only you can solve this by giving the application the appropriate permissions.
The setup is the same as in previous versions.

If the software cannot write to the documents folder then something is blocking it.
Did you also disable Windows ransomware protection?

Hi jerryco,
I did the download to the download-folder. Unzipped there and get three files licenseText, whatsnew and the setup64.exe.
I started the setup64.exe within the download folder ...
I even copied and started the setup64.exe in some other folders.

Don´t know what wwb18 needs or wants to do and where. It´s so confusing as many other programs ask for my admin password, a few clicks and they are installed !

Hello to the experts,

finally I turned off Ransomware protection ... and installation of wwb 18 is complete now!!
Everything okay now !! Even imported the former wwb17 project.

Thanks a lot for your help and I´ll go on using WWB.
