I have changed the password used to upload and publish files to my ftp folder but when i edit the password entry prior to publishing the upload is only successful once.
when i edit another file then select to publish again the password has returned to the old entry and not my new password
How do i save the new password in the publishing feature?

Re: saving changed publish password
Maybe the file 'publish.dat' is read-only, so the settings cannot be saved?

Re: saving changed publish password
just checked the file and it is not read only
Re: saving changed publish password
Then maybe it is write protected in by your firewall or anti-ransomware software?
I am pretty sure that it's related to this file.

Re: saving changed publish password
Solved!
I opened the publish.dat file with notepad and physically changed the password entry.
after saving the edited file i then tried to publish and hey presto! .. my new password has been remembered by the publishing feature.
Thanks Pablo for pointing me to the file
