*SOLVED* Contact going to SPAM in online Outlook client *SOLVED*

Post by etcbbu »

Hi all,

Is anyone else noticing that more peoples' e-mails they get from the standard Contact forms built with the php mail function are going to SPAM more, nowadays? I've got a client who checks their e-mail in the online Outlook mail client, and it's that very @outlook.com mail client that I have set to receive e-mail messages from their standard php Contact form I've created on their WB website like I do on all of my WB projects. Has anyone noticed any rules-of-thumb to help their messages from going to SPAM these days?

(I know there was a big TLS thing, universally on the Internet, causing some uproar over this past year; just wondering if any WB-users have found some good solutions to stop e-mails from standard php contact forms on WB websites that go to @outlook addresses have found some methods that work well to keep them from going to SPAM)

I doubt that this is related to WWB. Every other website is using the same PHP mailer,. This is not a WWB specific feature!

It is more likely that this is a configuration u=issue or the server's IP address is on a black list.

From reading it looks like you have set the form/contact of the client to use an external email address @outlook. Many hosting providers do not allow this and require that you use the domain email instead example: yourclient@theredomain.com. This is really down to prevent spamming originating from the domain itself with so called "free" emails accounts such as outlook and will block emails or they end up in spam.

So maybe set it to their local domain .com e-mail address; and then maybe on the mailbox-options, itself, make it a "Forward" to whatever e-mail they *want* to use, like an @outlook.com ?
