site search index file

Post by keydog »

trying to configure a site search for a new site Im working on
got it to work displaying results in a layer but the results that are showing are from my other sites
do I have to rename the search index file for this project?
if so then how do I get it to find this file so it only displays results from this site

not much of it done but here is the page I have the search on

Each project has it's own search index.
Maybe you did not publish the website in a separate folder?

ok tried to delete that post but it wouldn't let me
the search results being from my other sites must have been a bowser issue, it looks like it is working in IE

I have another question on same issue

would like search results to display on their own page, I set results "show results in another page"
in the setting I put in the page / On this site I just named it page 2 while trying to work this out
I put a layer on this page to show the results in, but when a search is done it does go to the second page, but the search results are an image of that first page where the search is located

on that other issue, I wound up publishing other site to wrong folder, I didn't realize the publish setting changed on my other site when working on this one
usually the setting stay intact for each project
