Twitter Feed via HTML object

Post by Starb7 »

Hi All

Does anyone know if the HTML Object method to add a Twitter Feed to a web site still works?

I have had this set up on a couple of sites for several years and just recently, two clients have been in touch to tell me the feed no longer works and just shows a message saying "Nothing to see here..." The link to the feed stil works, just no live content showing.

TIA

Paul

Could it be anything to do with this?

Probably not as both I and the customers feeds are 'logged in' so not sure how that could be the issue but thanks for the input :)

I doubt it has anything to do with the HTML Object as it is only used to make it easier to insert code to the page and changes it in noway. So if it has previously worked then it means the code of the feed from twitter has changed in someway. You will need check the code is still valid

Hi BaconFries, Yes, that's what I thought too and so suspect Trwitter have messed something up (again)! If anyone else has this issue, ie no feed showing, and has a worka-round, please let me know and I'll do the same, etc.

Cheers

Maybe related or not tweet from Elon himself I would check with client it there account is verified etc. Also ensure the api is up to date, check server status (twitter) and browser used to view there was a known issue last year with safari not sure if fixed as don't use it.

Sorry, I should have said, I have tried all the usual stuff, google, twitter, and other browsers, etc, and yes, Elon Musk needs sending into space! I do think this is a global issue with Twitter and hopefully they can get it sorted soon. Guess everyones going to start using 'Threads' (https://www.threads.net/) now EM has buggered Twitter up!

Thanks for your help.

Cheers

Threads for web is not available yet. The best you could do is add a link to the thread and hope they have thread to view it. They have said they will add it soon though...

Don't you have to have an Instagram account to be able to use Thread?

Hi All

OK, tried all sorts of things and can't get this to work any more. Even using Twitters own 'creation' tool at https://publish.twitter.com/# doesn't seem to work.

All I see on an embedded timeline is "Nothing to see here - yet" where it used to work just fine. So, my query is, does anyone who has got an embedded timeline and it is actually working, know what the issue actually is and how to get around it or do we just have to wait for the nice chaps at Twitter to sort it?

TIA

Paul
