responsive menu

Post by Patriot »

I have uploaded my updated web site but the menu now looks good but when uploaded it makes another line instead of keeping all menu pages in line. the width is correct but I'm missing something it seems. TMBC.us. i think its the CSS menu

Can you be more specific? what menu have you used? Please provide a url to the page(s) in question so that it can be viewed and an answer given.

Thank you but now somehow it appears the index is working correctly. But now most of my pictures are not being saved each time I save my site

There is no difference between previewing and publishing. If it looks correct when previewing but not when you've uploaded it to your host, then it means you are either missing files or you didn't upload all the changed files or didn't clear your browser cache. Make sure to do a full upload of all the files to make sure none of the changed files get missed.

For the Menu options for What We Believe and Members you have a sub-menu item that has a link, but the main menu item links to a page that is no there.

The menu is responsive and changes to hamburger, but looks like you need to set the break point a little larger so it changes sooner.

Also would suggest considering a more responsive design for the entire site.

To carry this on from others. Regarding missing image(s) the following is not on the server https://www.tmbc.us/images/yepfwhyp6c.jpg
Checking the image folder many of your images (almost all) start with a number this can cause issues see the following: How do I name my pages, images and other files

Also looking at the source of the page you are using a "fixed" width (non responsive)for the page which doesn't make sense to use a responsive menu with as the menu doesn't have a breakpoint (this is where the page size changes depending on device) so the last menu item will be pushed down.

When using any menus that have a sub menu then you should never assign a link to the main item as this can cause some browsers to follow the link and not open the submenu. To put it simply you can only have one action it is to either open the submenu or go to the link not both. It will also cause issues with mobile devices which use touch rather than mouse over to select the action of the menu.

Access denied

Post by Patriot »

Greetings,

Not sure which topic this might be connected with. When I try to saved my site (tmbc.us) I get a pop up message. “Access denied cause the application does not have enough permissions, or another application has the file open and locked” I have rebooted and don’t see any thing else running yet I still get the message.

Thank you,

Hi Patriot,
Your home page has some broken images. And when i was trying to access those images with URL, your server can't find the images.(See screenshot) This only happening because your image files are not uploading to your server. This might be because when you are publishing, you are not choosing "Publish all files" mode. Try with this.

GREETINGS,

my current challenge is the home button on my CSS menu is not showing up wonder if that might be why what I built does not show up online yet upload shows ok and the preview shows up ok but the home page on the menu is not showing. www.patriotsforliberty.us

Where on the page is the 'home' button supposed to be?
What does it look like in preview?

Are other changes visible online?
Are there any errors in the publish log? (with the log level set to 'all')
