Suggestions / Image Maps & Music

Hi people

anyone knows any way to create complex image maps beyond the usual HTML image maps?
I mean... i want to develop a website where visitors can play music/sounds through clickable zones on various images, but not just squares, circles or anything like that only...

i can give you an example although this is with squares (whereas i want more complex shapes like the background shapes for instance):

I'm thinking of also using CSS3 animations to be a richer experience!!

With 'Image hotspot' object you can create image maps and use events to trigger actions, like playing sounds or starting an animation.

However, the example you provided is way more complicated it uses scripting to implement the functionality.

i have to experiment with it and play around a little bit to see what i can achieve. On the second example picture you provided me, i can see some dots, maybe i am able to position them around, let's see what it can do for me. I have never tried this tool conveniently. I'll give it a try! Thank you!
