Custom block issue

Post by FPA »

Hello,
I've created a custom block containing a logo, a menu and a search box that I plan to use on all pages.
The issue is that if I drop a footer block on the page, the footer sits on the top of the page, above the custom block header.

Also, when I select the custom block for resizing it, only the top left handle is visible.

Finally, my custom block doesn't appear in the headers blocks list, where I stored it.

Is it a bug or something?
v18.4.1

Thanks

Maybe you have set layout grid to footer mode?

If you need further assistance then please share a DEMO project and describe the exact steps to reproduce this behavior.

Thanks for your reply Pablo.
I've just installed the v18 on a new computer. But it might worth checking.
How can I check that please?

I do not see any floating (flexible) content in this project.
Can you please describe the exact steps to reproduce this behavior?

Open the project, select any footer from the list and drop it on the page.
The footer will jump on the top of the page above the custom block.

This is expected behavior, because there is no other floating content on the page.

See also the 'Note' in the blocks tutorial:

i don't get what you mean by "floating content".

I followed that "Creating your own blocks"
You can also create your own Blocks. To create a Block, select all the objects you want to be part of the block and the choose 'Save As Block' in the menu. You can even create your own categories!

When I click on any object, all objects are selected and displayed as a single block.

What do I miss here?

Your project is using 'fixed layout'
However, most blocks use 'floating layout'

The difference is explained here:

The issue with the link is that it's sending you through other links without clearly explaining how to create a floating block.
Would you please let me know how to simply create a floating block?
Thanks

Step 1
Add a layout grid to the page

Step 2
Add content to the layout grid

Step 3
Save the layout grid as block
