Need help header and place holder

Post by KevB »

Hello,
I'm having a little trouble creating my site and would like a little help.

First, my goal:
To have a navigation bar at the top of my site that stays fixed when I scroll. It will be common to all pages. Below this bar, the content of my pages should scroll.

Current situation:
Following a tutorial, I've created a page that doesn't appear in the site's tree, which I'm using as a template.
I've added a "page header" in floating mode. Underneath, I put a "content place holder" with "floating" overflow.
I don't need a footer.

I've set my pages, in miscellaneous, to have a "Master frame (requires content place holder).
The content of these pages is in layout gird in "floating" position.

At this stage, the header disappears when I scoll. The problem is that when I change the settings, I get the fixed header but the start of my pages are hidden under it....

Could you help me?

Hi KevB, You need to set "Padding top" to the first Layout Grid on your content page. Use as much as it neads for look good.

thank you for your reply. Do you mean this parameter?
If so, my first Layout Grid completely covers the header I've placed on my template page.

Because the header is fixed, it will overlap floating content.
If you want to content to start below the header then you can add (top) margin to the first element of the content.

Margin can be set via the 'margin' properties. See also the FAQ:
