Text change
I checked the help, and maybe I missed it, but is there a simple way to change the font of a text object and have it change in all of the breakpoints when using responsive text? Sort of like how you can hold the shift key when adding padding to an object and it makes it the same in each breakpoint. or do I have to go to each breakpoint and change it?
Re: Text change
In the property inspector you can select 'Reset all properties' in the context menu to make the font size the same in all breakpoints.
Re: Text change
Will 'reset all properties' affect anything else? Like font size? I'm looking to only change the font family and nothing else.
Re: Text change
It will reset all properties.
But I will investigate if I can make an option to reset the font family individually.

Re: Text change
Thanks Pablo. That would be a time saver. Nothing like creating a project and then a customer wants the font changed and you have a lot of text objects and breakpoints to individually go thru and change.
Re: Text change
If you want to change the font for the entire project then you can use 'Global Replace'
Re: Text change
Thanks! that will work if only using 1 font in the entire project. Many times I may use 2-3 fonts though.

Re: Text change
What @pablo was saying I think was if there are 3 fonts for example then we might have to do changes for those fonts one after the other on the global replace. But if something better can be implemented then can be useful.
Re: Text change
I've considered removing the responsive "font family" functionality (not font size) entirely, as I'm uncertain whether there's a need to use a different font at breakpoints. What are your thoughts on this?

Re: Text change
I think in a way your consideration is correct @pablo but their is always that 1% trying to add 00.
Pros of Using Different Fonts at Breakpoints:
1. Improved Readability: Different fonts can be chosen to optimize readability at different screen sizes, enhancing the overall user experience.
2. Enhanced Aesthetic Appeal: The use of distinct fonts can contribute to a visually appealing layout that adapts to the various breakpoints, creating a seamless and engaging design.
3. Brand Consistency: When used thoughtfully, different fonts at breakpoints can help maintain brand consistency and reinforce the brand identity across different devices and screen sizes.
Cons of Using Different Fonts at Breakpoints:
1. Complexity in Design: Managing different fonts at breakpoints can add complexity to the design process and may require extra effort to ensure a cohesive and harmonious visual experience.
2. Increased Page Load Times: Implementing multiple fonts at breakpoints might lead to larger font files being loaded, potentially impacting the site's performance and speed.
3. User Experience: If not executed carefully, using different fonts at breakpoints could result in a disjointed and inconsistent user experience, leading to confusion and dissatisfaction among website visitors.
It is like the battle of performance vs aesthetics so that fifty fifty chances which people might have to decide although the features are like checkbox optional.

Re: Text change
Hi crispy. I use the "Style Manager" to make fonts that I easy can change for each breakpoint and make individual changes in any way I want. Just set up the used breakpoints for the styles you use and it works perfect.crispy68 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 5:50 pm I checked the help, and maybe I missed it, but is there a simple way to change the font of a text object and have it change in all of the breakpoints when using responsive text? Re: Text change
@Bluesman,
I had thought about going that way and it is an option. But I think my suggestion is also needed as not everyone uses styles and I feel it would be beneficial in general.
@Pablo,
The idea of using different fonts in breakpoints for the same text object doesn't seem practical to me. I've never had a need for it. In my opinion, the font you choose for desktop should also look good on mobile and if not then I would consider using a different font. I'm sure there is going to be an instance when someone wants to do this. Maybe there is a way to make a checkbox for the text object that states 'use same font family for all breakpoints'?
