Server Space

Post by bubblegumweb »

Hi all,
does anyone know if there is such a thing as free server space so that the WYSIWYG websites I am creating can be uploaded and tested along with being able to show others on the web without having to pay for any server space?

Thanks.

When I was at your stage I just created a folder on my own server called testSite then uploaded all necessary files to that( i.e. a duplicate site giving anyone a browser link for testing). I had plenty of server space available to enable me to do that. Very easy to modify or just delete if any problems.

If you have no PHP code, you can just publish to a local folder on your PC and then test it by clicking on 'index.html'.

You may even be able to get a PHP emulator to run on Windows.

Like Bacon Fries said there are a lot of free web hosting solutions on the web (ex: https://www.000webhost.com). Make sure you login at least once a week (yes, there are some rules in order to keep your account active)

another one is:
https://www.freehosting.com

or:
https://www.infinityfree.com/

you can also visit this website (has some good info as well!)
https://www.getfreedomain.name/free-hosting/

alternatively you can install AMPPS for testing out your websites:
https://ampps.com

last but not least:
i know this wont help much, but if you have some money you can buy an afordable NAS (Network-Attached Storage) and create your own server and show your websites to the world, there are some cheap ones and you can host more websites as well.

hope i did help 🙂
kind regards
Mary
