Text Boxes - Linked for overflow

Post by northstar »

In one of my publishing programs, it is possible to create linked text boxes. By linking them, should a revision be made in the first linked text box, the test will automatically flow into the second text box.

Can a similar process occur in WYSIWYG?

Thanks for following up with your ideas.

In WYSIWYG it is not possible or may require custom codes. But for the sake of argument why not use tab index by pressing tab you can jump to the next editbox easily and write if using keyboard and not mobile. But if you are using mobile then the circumstances are that you would have to do some kind of custom code which has to verify if the input which has been written has limit which after it transits to the next editbox. Kind of like otp.

But then again you would have to merge the values if needed to make it go to a single column if it is not the case.

Curious to know what type of form is it do you have any demo?

I believe that the question getting asked is, is it possible within the program itself, is this. In the design workspace you may have multiple Editboxs each one has its own amount of text. Now if any change is made in Editbox 1 (more text added) and there is not enough height (space) then the last few lines of text will flow (move automatically) to Editbox 2 and this will be the same for Editbox 2 and so on.
Meaning instead of having to move lines of text manually between each Editbox and move position of each Editbox within the workplace to accommodate then it is done automatically.

In the like of Publisher it can easily be done within it as mentioned...
