WB19 Install problem

Post by necko77 »

I’ve been using WB16 for a long time, and last night I purchased WB19 along with the extensions. However, when I tried to install WB19 on my work computer, I encountered the following issues:

First, I received these error messages during installation:
https://nextcloud.s1-100.com/s/6Fg6WnqNX7nx3jS

After that, I had to disable Windows protection features (Protected Folder Access Blocked and Real-Time Protection).
https://nextcloud.s1-100.com/s/dbKcPwLE2A7jZDy
https://nextcloud.s1-100.com/s/e9bQHdQzXjN9ypP

I managed to install WB19 after disabling these features, but now I can’t activate the license. The first time, I saw the license window and entered my serial number and email, but after restarting WB19, it’s still unlicensed, and the license window no longer appears.

This computer is part of a business domain, so admin credentials are required to install any software. At home, everything works fine, but at work, WB19 is causing these issues. WB16 works perfectly both at home and at work, but WB19 is giving me trouble.

Additionally, when I load a project created in WB16 on WB19 and make some updates, I’m facing odd issues with the CSS menu. In WB19, the CSS menu no longer flows over the header:

For comparison, here’s how it looks in WB16:
https://nextcloud.s1-100.com/s/x4cmBFkXXoGydWz

The settings are identical in both versions. Some objects from the footer randomly move to the header, causing it to resize. When I move them back and save, things seem fine for a while, but the issue eventually reappears. This only happens in certain breakpoints (480).

Given these recurring problems, I’m seriously considering returning to WB16 to avoid all these bugs.

Is it possible to return WB19 and get a refund. I purchased it via PayPal? I simply don’t have the time or technical knowledge to troubleshoot these issues, and the fact that a page created in WB16 doesn’t work properly in WB19 is concerning.

Thanks!

This is most likely an issue with your firewall or anti-ransom ware protection.
Please add the software to the exception list.

Alternatively, rename the document folder before you run the setup and after the setup is complete move all files back the the newly crated folders, so they have the correct permissions.

The same for the activation, make sure the sofwtar has the appropriate rights to access the server and save changed to the configuration.

If you need help with your projetc then please share a DEMO project as documented here:

Thx Pablo for reply,

I will return to WB16. That's the fastest way in my case, I don't have time to debug this problem as I have to deliver working web page pronto.
I will uninstall WB19,...

Have a good day sir!

Note that your order does not qualify for a refund if you still have it activated on multiple computers.

I'm sorry but as I can't use WB19 as intended I will have to ask PayPal to step in and return my funds.
I have buy it yesterday and completely lost 10 hours of my life trying to make it work and as it is not working in my case I will have to return it. I have installed it on my comp at home. At work it didn't licensed it, it is working as demo, little icon of web builder is displayed there....
So only at one comp it was properly installed. Today when I get back home I will try one more time and after that it will be what PayPal decide...I hope that you understand me!

Have a nice day.

So...the above says that there is nothing wrong with the software as it has been installed... correct yes/no!. So the issue is with the other PC and it security correct? When you install the software your PC/Laptop sees it as a completely "New" application so you as the user needs to add it to any AV software, Windows Ransomware etc etc whitelists.so it will install.
Just a word of caution if you have opened your WB16 project in WB19 and then saved you will not be able to reopen in WB16 again! so hopefully you have a backup of your project so you can continue.

hello,

I just want to finish this saga....

I had to recreate CSS menu from scratch and it started to work as expected. That's for sure was some hiccup due to document conversion from ver16 to ver19.

As everything is working now as expected - my ass is saved and this case is closed!

Have a good day!

Note that there is no 'conversion'. Each time you publish a page, it will be re-generated. The project file only contains the properties.
But there may have been a conflict in your settings.
