FB feed script

Post by cmsintent »

Hi Pablo .. I know this is part of the software package but not sure if support for this script is treated like extensions ... **AS IS** ... but thought I would ask

I have a website that is using the MISCELLANOUS > Ready to Use Java Scripts > Facebook Page Plugin

I was contacted yesterday and was told the feed is not showing on iPhone (have been using this for a few years now)

So I tested...

WINDOWS PC 11 current, shows feed
iPad OS v17.6.1 shows feed
iPhone OS v17.7.1 does not show feed so I thought maybe that update was the issue so updated my iPhone to v18.1.1 and still doesn't display

I am using the lastest WWB build v19.4.4 (Nov 22, 2024)

I created a couple of stand alone pages ... just the script on bare static pages, but behavior is still the same.

Thoughts?

Do you or anyone know a work around for this?

The "Facebook Page Plugin' is a third party script. It is basically the standard script snippet from the Facebook website.
So, WWB has no control over how the script works.

However, the script seems to work ok when I visit your website. So, there may be an issue with your browser or security configuration.

I have viewed both links on a cell/mobile (Samsung) using "Chrome" browser. In mobile mode the page(s) don't display if I then switch to desktop both display.
I also tested in Firefox as before in mobile mode the page(s) are blank apart from the url being displayed in the page itself as does in Desktop mode.

Bacon Fries ... you got me thinking .. so I YouTubed ... solution for iPhone is to change in Settings > Safari > Request Desktop Websites > enable ALL WEBSITES (which forces desktop site to load) ... and it works!

Thanks!!
