Problem with all images set to one side of page

Post by keydog »

I tried to add a new layout grid with 2 layout grids in side of the first one
divird into 4 sections for images

in preview all looks like I layed it out to be but on published page the new layout grid is stuck to the left side of the page

this new set of layout grids is just a clone of the one above it on the same page

this is the page

https://thearcadeboneyard.com/index.php

It is also randomly picking an image and duplicating it several layout grids

It is unclear for me where on the page I need to look to see what you mean.

Can you please create a DEMO project?

Note that I cannot see what you have done based on the published page (HTML), because the software has thousands of options and millions of possible combinations.
So, there is no way to know which options you have used by looking at the HTML only.

I went and republished a back up file of the project last night, I couldnt leave the site like that

Im trying to add another set of layout grids with images like what is on there already
I have 3 rows of stacked layout grids with images
I tried to just clone one set of them and change the images and that is when the issue occured

now there is an issue with the last row of layout grids, 2 of the images are not showing the red border
I think this is part of the same issue I was having

pictures file
****urls removed****

should I start a new post for this?

Please note that you are not allowed to share extensions. This violates copyrights. Please remove the 'system' files from the server immediately.

Also, if you need help then please provide a simple a demo project, not the full project of more than 400 MB.

For further details about how to share a project file, please see this FAQ:

ok I thought the system folder would be needed , I didnt know

the issue still occurring is on the bottom row of layout grids, every other image is not showing the red outline like the rest of the images on the page
I think this laso had to do with the problem occurring before, images shifted to the left

in preview, everything looks ok, it on the live published page where this shows up

If it looks ok when previewed but not when published then this usually means 1 of 2 things: You either didnt upload all of the new files that were generated or there are files missing. There is no difference between previewing and publishing. All the same files are generated.

In your demo project, in the publisher settings you have Publish set to "pages currently opened". If you only want to update the index page, then set this to Selected page only and try republishing.

Here is your homepage that I published:

Can you post a link to the WBS file (and associated directories)? I'll take a look if you like.

I removed the urls due to that they contained extensions which isn't permitted due to copyright and no sharing. When sharing it is just a very basic "Demo" needed generally just one page with the issue and the associated images used. This makes it easier to check and give you a answer. Without having to download have you just provided this, as a quick look it shows one file over 300mb and one about 65mb...and to be honest to large

I understand your need, but if you are sharing a project it is asked to remove all extensions due to copyright and if they are paid extensions they cannot be shared to others who haven't paid for them. I apologise if you feel disgruntled by this by and hope you find help...

I've downloaded the two files and opened it up in WWB20.

My first thoughts are:

You have layout grids inside layout grids. Why didn't you just use a card container with 4 cards in it?

I'll have more of a play later on. Got to go out now.

Im still having this issue
images are either spaced apart across the page or all to one side

I remade the entire page from scratch, upload with an different name and it displays ok, then I rename on the server to index then the same problem occurs
I thought maybe my version of wb had become corrupted so installed new version, republish pages and it still does the same

I dont see how to upload a screen shot here

if I make any chnges to this page then everything shifts to the left

https://thearcadeboneyard.com/index.php

I know you want a project file, have uploaded several times already and Im still stuck with this

all I did was add another row of layout grids with images

Are you deleting all old files from the server first? as they may be conflicting with the "New" if they are using the same name!..And as previously a Basic" project is needed, just one page with the required images for that page only and not 1000's as you have previously have.

yes I took off the old js, css and html files (from the server) after I published and renamed the new page to index

crispy told me he looked at the project and said there was some code missing from the css file
not sure why this would happen

It is not clear to me where exactly on the page I need to look and what is is suppose to looks like.

Can you please share DEMO project which only contains the elements that you have an issue with, so it's immediately clear what you are asking without having to go through hundred of options?

Step 1
Save the project under a different name using 'Save As'

Step 2
Remove all pages from the new project that are not relevant to your issue

Step 3
Remove all content from the page that is not relevant to your issue

Step 4
Share the demo project

Step 5
Describe where exactly on the page I need to look to see the issue.

Note that you could have already have a solution if you had shared this a couple of days ago.

Viewing the url at your latest post I don't see any issues that you previously mentioned so perhaps it is now all ok?.

no
I put up the old page because only the bottom row is spread out

wish i could send a screen shot on here

it shows up ok in preview before I publish

whatever page I make the index page on the server shows up with issues

if I publish and name the page index2 (or anything else aside from index) it shows correct

I was thinking of just leaving it that way but figured that would break links online

There is no difference between local preview and published. If there is it generally means missing files or corrupted
whatever page I make the index page on the server shows up with issues
This is why I asked if you have removed/deleted all old files from the server as it may still be getting called and causing the issue.
wish i could send a screen shot on here
You can, just upload the screenshot to your own site and provide a url or use the following https://imgbb.com/
