This is the second time I have encountered this issue.
If you look at the 21st image thumbnail and then click on it you will see the proper exposure in the full size image.

Re: Photo Gallery Very Dark Thumbnail
If you create thumbnail of an image then you will loose some quality depending on the selected compression.
You can set the compression level in Tools -> Options -> Publish
Alternatively, you can specify your own thumbnail image.

Re: Photo Gallery Very Dark Thumbnail
There is no logic in WWB that makes the image darker, this may be side effect of the scaling. This is not done by WWB internally.
But as mentioned you can set your own thumbnail

This could explain Pablos reply regarding scaling. A quick "Google" and one answer that explains this from stackoverflow is the following:
"Imagine you had a light image, such that the values in the image ranged from [200, 255]. When you scale the values, you spread the values from [0, 255] and now you have pixels that were previously bright (around 200) being mapped to black (0). If you have a generally bright image, it will seem darker after scaling. This seems to be the case for you."
Although not related to the use of WWB it may still explain why.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/588 ... %20scaling.

Re: Photo Gallery Very Dark Thumbnail
I think it's somehow related to how the image was saved.
If I load the original image in MSPAINT or Word, then it's also darker.
If I first convert the image to PNG then it loads correctly.
So, this is not specific to WWB.
