Failing with Wrap text object

Post by donjohnson24 »

I''m using version 19.4.3

I placed a Wrap Text object in the middle box of Layout Grid, pasted some text inside and set the line height, Font etc. and expanded the WT object to accommodate all the text - plus some extra space in case it was needed.

I set Position Children to Floating and tried to insert an Image - From a File. The X appears, but cannot be expanded to create space for the image

If I set to Absolute instead of Floating, I can insert an image, but the image covers the text or sits below it.

Am I missing something? Any help would be appreciated.

To be able to help you, I need a DEMO project (.wbs file) so I can see all your settings.
Also, please include a description how to reproduce this problem.

I do not need the complete project because that will only take more time to figure out what you have done.
Basically, I just need a small project with one page and object(s) that are relevant to your question.

For further details about how to share a project file, please see this FAQ:

Hi Pablo,
I hope the wbs file is suitable - see https://www.donjohnson24.co.uk/TestFile ... onTest.wbs
I cannot really expand on the method to create the problem, so I hope that is sufficient
Thanks, Don

The correct address for the wbs file is - www.donjohnson24.co.uk/Testfiles/DonJohnsonTest.wbs
Sorry for the typo
The page is next1
I said that the X does not appear, but a window does appear for a file selection, but the one picked superimposes the text.

Do you ever go to bed ?

So exactly what are you trying to do? When you insert the image, where are you wanting the image to be? If absolute, you can put the image anywhere but it is not responsive. If floating, then it can be either left or right. If you choose shape, you can put it in the middle but it creates 2 columns and you have to enter <break> in the text so it knows where to split it. You can also add margin with this option. This info is in the help file also.

If you choose floating and the image is on the right or left and you want spacing around the image, just right click on the image and add margin.

I have tried to add an image the text in your project and that seems to work as expected.

Because you have placed the wrapped text inside a layout grid, 'position children' can only be floating otherwise it will break the flexible layout.

Thanks for comments, they made me try harder to find the problem

The Properties of the image I tried to insert had Layout/Full Width set to True, changed to False and things worked as expected
