Ready to use java script not work in WWB20?

Post by Dragos »

I tried to add a java script using the "Ready-to-use-javascript" extension but immediately after I dragged the extension onto the page it didn't show anything in the properties window (snippets) as shown in the image. To reproduce....drag the extension onto a newly created html page and see what appears when the properties page opens. Image
Use Win11/64bit, wwb20 . Have wamp64 server on windows 10/64bit with last mysql, php, phpmyadmin, mariadb....
Thanks for all!!

Note the the Ready to Use JavaScript is not an "Extension" it is a selection of scripts. If no scripts are shown it may be related to the location of the js.dat required it should be C:\yourname\Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder\system if not found there then maybe you have set to a different folder in Tools -> Options -> Files & Folder?

In the folder C:\Users\Dragos\Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder\system there is the js.dat file but in Tools/Option/File and folders is just C:\Users\Dragos\Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder. If I add \system... then Ready to use javascript works but I don't see any other installed extensions than the basic ones.

Is it possible that you have enabled "Easy Mode"

By default js.dat is installed in the Program Files\WYSIWYG Web Builder folder.
If the file is not in this folder then then your virusscanner may have accidentally removed the file.
In that case, reinstall the software.

js.dat in the system folder is for customized scripts.

I just reinstalled version 20.0.6 yesterday and it didn't install the js.dat file, but I added it manually and it still doesn't work after restarting WWB (the installation was done in administrator mode). I dont have enabled Easy Mode.

It is working for me. So, it must be something in your file system that's wrong.

in mine, I have a customised js.dat in D:\alans\Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder\system (the location as defined in options-> Files & folders)
There is also the default one in C:\Program Files\WYSIWYG Web Builder 20\

Before doing a reinstall of Windows try turning of any AV software such as Windows Ransomware etc or add WWB to the whitelist/exceptions of any and all AV you may use.

If the file is not installed then something on your computer must be removing it.

The js.dat file is installed with all other files in the program files folder. If you do not use customized scripts then please remove the file from the system folder otherwise that file will be used instead.

Dragos, check how many js.dat files you have and where they are. Also, check the file sizes. You may have one that is size sero which WWB is picking up. If you find more than one, delete all the ones apart from the one in C:\Program Files\WYSIWYG Web Builder 20\ and make sure that one is around 250Kb in size.

Also, check that the js.dat file you finally use isn't corrupted.

If you go here https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/free_extras.html you can download jssciptedit.exe and run it to see if it sees all the scripts in js.dat OK. Just put the exe file in the same folder as js.dat and run it.
