Publishing Issue ... project not saving Publishing location

Post by bjlolmaugh »

I am having an issue where the project does not save it's publishing location. I always publish locally on my PC ... not directly to the server.

When I am updating Website A ... I publish to my computer folder "Website A".
Then I open Website B .... publish to my computer folder "Website B".
When I reopen Website A and go to publish, it has switched the publish location to Website B instead of the publishing location I previously set it as.

How to I get each project to maintain it's publishing location?
Sincerely,

You can set a different publish location to each project by creating a unique profile for each one.

See the 'important note' in this tutorial:

" After you have created the profile you can set is as the default for the project with the 'Publish to' drop down menu."

How do I set it as a default?

If you give each profile a unique name then the name will be saved in the project.
The next time you open the publish window, it will be selected.
