2 of my top problems, please help!

Hello WYSIWYG users! I love this program, but almost 99% of the problems that I face are due to those 2 things:
1. How to insert a section on a template webapge? I have tried to insert divider or some block element and I cant. Why is so difficult to do that?
Is there a way to do that? No matter what I try, it never works. I cant split the template and insert another section.
2. On the header lets say I have a 2 rows 1 is the menu and the other one is a logo, let's say. On the logo side, I try to include 2 objects, an icon and a text. It does not matter what I do, I can't line them one next to the other, why? How to do that?
Those are my top frustrations with this otherwise great program.

Are you using layout grids or anything like that? Or are you just putting stuff on a page? We could do with a bit more information here.

Also, which template? That may help in providing some answers for you.

A template is just a regular website project, so making changes works exactly the same way.
I assume by "section" you mean just another layout grid or block?

Option 1
Drag & drop a layout grid to the page. It will be added at of the page. You it move up via the arrange tools, object manager, by using drag & drop or the arrange option on the ruler.

Option 2
You can also insert complete block via the Blocks Manager
